Aloft in Song

I can hear it
This song you sing
It breathes out from your soul
It has depth and life
Resonance and range
It permeates your presence
Trespassing without your consent

Its movements are many
With calming simplicity
And stimulating complexity
Your song invigorates the very cells of those who choose to listen

Unpredictable and exciting
A pattern unfolds
A tremolo of sharps and flats
Forming a harmony altogether unexpected and familiar

A secret escapes like waves from your song

Its precision a staccato
Its defiance a crescendo
Whispering and wailing
In unison

Wow -- all of your comments came through to my inbox at once...an enormous surge of encouragement! thank you! i haven't really put my stuff out there before, so it's great to have honest, unbiased thoughts on my work. (meaning, if i show stuff to family, well, they probably won't tell me if it stinks :)

This is the first time I have visited here g! I don't know how I missed it. This is beautiful. I love your poetry. I think Cin really put it best... you add just enough and leave room for our imaginations and relationships to apply too. I love it.
